Oyster wafer
Definition
An oyster wafer is a shell-shaped wafer that holds soft serve between its two halves, like an open oyster. A traditional British van treat.
The oyster is a curved wafer shell, often with a marshmallow edge, that is filled with soft serve so it looks like an oyster with its lid open. It is an old-school British treat that pre-dates many of the cones on a modern van, and it is held and eaten more like a sandwich than a cone.
Older guests tend to recognise it straight away, which makes it a good conversation starter at anniversaries, birthdays and vintage-themed events. Ours is the Oyster with Flake, listed on the Premium Waffle Cones board. Like other wafers it contains wheat, so check our allergen information if that matters to your guests.
