100% electric · zero emissions while serving

Fully electric while serving

Four vans that switch the engine off and serve on batteries. No engine or generator keeping the freezers cold, so no fumes and no drone while we serve. ULEZ compliant, anywhere in London.

What changes when the van serves on batteriesSix differences

01

No engine running all day

A traditional ice cream van keeps its diesel engine running while it trades, because that is what powers the freezers and the soft serve machine. Ours run from batteries, so the engine stays off from the moment we park.

02

Zero emissions while serving

Without an engine idling there is no exhaust drifting over the queue, the dance floor or the school playground while we serve. That is why marquees and children's events are happy to have us close.

03

Quiet enough for the speeches

There is no engine drone under the toasts or the first dance. Guests hear the event, not the van.

04

ULEZ compliant everywhere

The Ultra Low Emission Zone covers every London borough. Our vans meet the ULEZ standards, so there is no daily charge added to your quote wherever your event is.

05

Indoor and covered venues

Exhibition halls, atriums, warehouses and covered car parks can say no to a running engine. With nothing running while we serve, some indoor and covered venues can accept the van, subject to their own access and safety rules.

06

The same ice cream

Proper Mr. Whippy soft serve, 99s with a Flake, waffle cones, Knickerbocker Glories, scoops, lollies and slush. Serving on batteries changes what powers the freezers, not what is on the menu.

Questions people ask

Are your ice cream vans fully electric?
They are fully electric while serving. The vans are Mercedes Sprinters built by Royal Conversion that drive to your event on diesel, then switch the engine off: the soft-serve machine, freezers and lights all run on lithium batteries. So there are no exhaust fumes and no engine noise the whole time we serve.
Can your ice cream van serve indoors?
Sometimes. With nothing running while we serve, some indoor and covered venues can accept the van. Every venue has its own rules on vehicle access, floor loading and fire safety, so we always check with the venue before confirming.
Do I pay a ULEZ charge for your van?
No. Our vans meet the Ultra Low Emission Zone standards, so there is no daily ULEZ charge and nothing extra appears on your quote for driving into the zone.
Is the ice cream any different from a normal van?
No. It is the same soft serve and the same full menu: cones, waffle cones, Knickerbocker Glories, sundaes, scoops, lollies and slush. Only the power behind the freezers has changed.
Do you need to plug in at my event?
No. The vans arrive charged and run from their own batteries, so you do not need to provide a power supply for us to serve.
