Ice cream van hire for brand activations

A battery-powered ice cream van that stops people in their tracks, with experience working alongside brands such as Red Bull and Mercedes-AMG.

An activation lives or dies on dwell time. People need a reason to stop, a reason to stay for a minute, and something to remember the brand by when they leave. An ice cream van does all three. It is familiar and friendly, the queue itself becomes an audience, and handing someone a free cone puts them in a good mood while your team talks to them.

Activations happen in demanding places: event sites with strict emissions rules, city squares, festival arenas, retail car parks. Our vans are ULEZ compliant, and they serve from battery with nothing running underneath. That keeps us close to the action, with no generator noise to talk over and no exhaust near your staff or the public.

We have worked with Red Bull and Mercedes-AMG, and on large events such as Black Pride Festival, so we understand that an agency brief comes with timings, branding rules and reporting. We arrive briefed, follow the site plan, and keep the van presentable from the first serve to the last. If the campaign moves between sites, we can plan routes and timings with you so each pitch opens on schedule.

Why our vans suit it

  • Built for dwell timeA queue at an ice cream van is a queue of people with a few minutes to spare. That is time your brand team can use for conversation, sampling or data capture.
  • No fumes while we serveMany sites and brands now set strict conditions on idling and fumes. Our vans drive on diesel, but the engine is off while we serve and everything runs on batteries, so there is no exhaust at the van.
  • No generator, no cablesThe van is self-contained on battery. There is no generator to place, fuel or soundproof, and no cable runs across walkways for the site manager to worry about.
  • Proven with big namesRed Bull and Mercedes-AMG have both used our vans. We know how to work to an agency brief and stay on-message in front of the public.
Planning ice cream for brand activationsPractical tips

01

Confirm permissions for the pitch

Public spaces usually need consent from the landowner or council, and some sites have their own trading rules. Make sure the pitch is cleared before the day. We can supply insurance and hygiene documents for the application.

02

Agree the giveaway mechanic

Free to all, free with a sign-up, or tokens handed out by your team? Each changes how the queue behaves. Tokens give you the most control and keep the van team focused on serving.

03

Choose fast items for peaks

Classic cones, lollies and slush move quickest when a crowd builds. Save the more elaborate items, such as Knickerbocker Glories, for quieter spells or VIP areas.

04

Plan the branding around the van

Discuss signage, flags or staff positions near the hatch early. We want your branding to work with the van, not block the serving window or the queue.

05

Share your reporting needs

If you need serve counts or timings for a campaign report, tell us before the day so we can keep track in the way you need.

Questions people ask

Can you run a free giveaway for our brand?
Yes. Most activations are hosted, so the brand covers the cost and the public receive their ice cream free. You can make it open to all, or tie it to a token, a sign-up or a code. We will agree the mechanic with you before the day.
Can you work on a site with strict emissions rules?
Our battery-powered serving helps here. There is no engine or generator running while we serve, so no exhaust at the van. We are ULEZ compliant across London. We can also provide documents if the site needs evidence of our insurance and food hygiene standards.
Do we need a licence to give away ice cream in a public place?
Often, some form of consent is required, from the landowner or the council, even for free giveaways. The rules vary by location. Check with the site owner or local council first, and we will supply the insurance and hygiene paperwork they usually ask for.
Can you cover a multi-day or multi-location campaign?
We have a fleet of four vans, so multi-day and multi-site work is often possible, subject to availability. Share your dates, locations and hours and we will put together a quote that reflects the whole campaign. Booking several days together also makes it easier to keep the same van and crew throughout.
