Wafer cone
Definition
A wafer cone is the light, pale cone moulded from a thin batter, used for the classic 99. It is airy and mild so the ice cream does the talking.
The wafer cone is the standard ice cream van cone. It is baked in a mould rather than rolled, which gives it a light, slightly papery texture and a flat-bottomed or pointed shape depending on the style. It tastes of very little on purpose, so the soft serve and toppings come first.
Wafer cones are quick to handle, cheap to stock and easy for small hands to hold, which is why they suit big crowds and children's events. All of our Classic Cones are served in a wafer cone, from the Single with Flake to the Oreo Cone and the Lotus Biscoff Crumble Cone. Wafer cones contain wheat, which is relevant for guests avoiding gluten.
