Screwball with Flake

Bubblegum at the bottom

A screwball is soft serve in a cone-shaped plastic cup, eaten with a spoon, with a surprise at the end. Ours comes topped with a Flake on the left and a rolled wafer on the right, and at the very bottom there is a bubblegum ball waiting to be found. The ice cream keeps the gumball cold, and getting to it is half the fun.

Children love the treasure-hunt element, and parents who remember screwballs from their own childhood tend to order one too. It suits children's parties, primary school events and fun days, and the cup makes it a little less messy than a cone for small hands. It is also a talking point on any menu, because plenty of younger guests have never seen one before.
