Ice cream van hire in Woolwich
Battery-powered ice cream vans for Woolwich's riverside, cultural venues, schools and family celebrations.
Woolwich has a long military and industrial history. For centuries the Royal Arsenal made and stored munitions here, and the Royal Artillery Barracks still faces Woolwich Common. Today the Arsenal site is a riverside neighbourhood of homes, restaurants and Woolwich Works, a cultural venue in the old buildings. The Elizabeth line, the free Woolwich Ferry and the DLR all connect the town to the rest of London. The town centre around General Gordon Square is the main meeting point.
That mix brings plenty of events: community festivals, school fairs, church celebrations, birthday parties and cultural events along the river. The town has many communities, and family celebrations are often large. The roads around the town centre and the Arsenal are busy, and parking is controlled. Our battery-powered vans make this easier. With no engine running while we serve, they can stand in a courtyard, square or school ground without fumes or noise.

Wedding ice cream van hire in Woolwich
Woolwich has riverside venues, cultural spaces, churches and halls, with more venues across Greenwich and Bexley. Many celebrations here are large family occasions. Check loading access and where a van can park near the entrance. With the engine off while we serve, there are no fumes near doors or windows. Sundaes, Knickerbocker Glories and Mr. Whippy cones make a crowd-pleasing dessert, and we can talk through dietary questions beforehand.

Woolwich: questions
- Can you serve at an event on the Royal Arsenal site?
- The Arsenal is a mix of public squares and privately managed land, so permission depends on where your event is. Check with the estate managers or the council first. Because nothing is running while we serve, the van suits squares and courtyards where fumes would be a problem.
- Can you serve a large family celebration?
- Yes. For big guest lists we plan the queue, the serving window and a focused menu so everyone is served in time. A prepaid token system means guests do not need to pay. Ask us about dietary needs before the day. See our guide to how much ice cream you need.
- Can we book a van on Woolwich Common?
- Woolwich Common is managed by the Royal Borough of Greenwich, with some land used by the military. Events and trading need permission, so contact the council first. We can send our insurance, hygiene rating and risk assessment for your application.
