Ice cream van hire in Catford
Quiet, battery-powered ice cream vans for Catford's parks, schools and community festivals.
Catford is the civic centre of the London Borough of Lewisham, home to the town hall and the Broadway Theatre, an art deco theatre that hosts shows and community events. The town is known for the giant fibreglass cat that sits above the shopping centre entrance. Catford sits on the South Circular, which brings heavy traffic, and has two railway stations, Catford and Catford Bridge, side by side. Its streets are mostly Victorian and Edwardian terraces.
It is a diverse, family area, and there is a full calendar of community events. Lewisham People's Day is held in Mountsfield Park, and Ladywell Fields along the River Ravensbourne is a favourite for families. School fairs, church celebrations, birthday parties and street parties all come up. Our battery-powered vans serve without an engine running, so there are no exhaust fumes near children or guests, which matters next to a road as busy as the South Circular.

Wedding ice cream van hire in Catford
Catford families hold wedding celebrations in churches, halls and function rooms across Lewisham and south east London, often with big guest lists. Check where the van can stand, since many venues sit near the busy South Circular. With battery-powered serving, there are no fumes near doors or windows. Knickerbocker Glories and sundaes work well for a large crowd, and we can talk through dietary questions in advance.

Catford: questions
- Can you serve at a community festival in Catford?
- Yes. We work with organisers on the van's pitch, the queue and the menu. For large public events, the organiser arranges trading with Lewisham Council. We can send our insurance and risk assessment. See our festivals page and festival catering guide. We can serve for cash or use a prepaid token system.
- Where can the van park near the South Circular?
- We avoid stopping on the South Circular. A side road, school ground, church car park or venue forecourt is much better. Tell us the address and we will plan a route and a legal, safe spot. Many side roads have parking controls, so local knowledge helps.
- Can we book a van in Mountsfield Park or Ladywell Fields?
- Both parks are managed by Lewisham Council, so events and trading need permission. Contact the council's events team first. We will provide the documents they ask for, including our public liability insurance and food hygiene rating. Allow time for the council to respond before your date.
