Ice cream van hire in Borehamwood
Battery-powered ice cream vans, silent while serving, for Borehamwood and Elstree: studio crews, family parties and school events.
Borehamwood is Hertfordshire's film town. Elstree Studios and the BBC Elstree Centre sit on the edge of the town centre, and productions from big Hollywood films to long-running TV shows have been made here. Many residents work in the industry, and the town is proud of its film heritage. It lies just outside the London boundary, next to Edgware and Mill Hill, with Thameslink trains from Elstree and Borehamwood station into the city and the A1 close by.
Film and TV work is a natural fit for a battery-powered ice cream van. With no engine running while it serves, it is quiet and fume-free, so it can be placed near a set or crew base, and it can appear on screen as a prop. Away from the studios, Borehamwood has plenty of family events: birthday parties, school fairs and community days in Aberford Park and the town's green spaces. With nothing idling, we serve without any noise outside the neighbours' windows.

Wedding ice cream van hire in Borehamwood
Borehamwood couples often hold receptions at hotels, golf clubs and country venues in south Hertfordshire, or in function suites for large family weddings. Hotel car parks here sometimes have height barriers, so tell us about any before the day. With no engine running while we serve, the van can park close to the venue door without exhaust, and serve a dessert round after the meal while the dance floor fills up.

Borehamwood: questions
- Can you serve on a film or TV set in Borehamwood?
- Yes, with the production's agreement. Studios have strict site rules, so we will need access details, call times and any security arrangements well in advance. Because the van serves on battery power, it can sit near a set without noise or fumes. We can also supply the van as a prop in its classic livery. See our film and TV bookings page.
- Do you cover Elstree, Shenley and Radlett?
- Yes. We cover Borehamwood, Elstree village, Shenley, Radlett and the area around them. Elstree village sits on a busy junction of main roads and Shenley has narrow lanes, so let us know where the van could stand. Send us your postcode, date and timings and we will put together a quote.
- Is Borehamwood treated as London or Hertfordshire?
- Borehamwood is in Hertfordshire, just over the boundary from the London Borough of Barnet, but for us it makes no difference to the service. It is a short run from our London routes. As with anywhere, the quote depends on distance, hours, guest numbers and menu. Send us the details and we will reply with a price.
