Ice cream van hire in Addiscombe
Quiet battery-powered ice cream vans for Addiscombe's gardens, schools and parks, a few minutes from our South Croydon base.
Addiscombe lies just east of central Croydon, a residential area of Victorian villas, terraces and later semis running out towards Shirley. Its name comes from an old manor, and in the 19th century the East India Company ran a military college here. Today it is a family area, with the tram running through it and local shops at Addiscombe and along Lower Addiscombe Road. Many houses have small front drives and long, narrow gardens.
Events in Addiscombe are mostly local: garden parties, children's birthdays, school fairs and summer gatherings in the parks. Lloyd Park and Park Hill are close by, and Ashburton Park sits on the eastern side. We are based in South Croydon, so we know these roads well, including where parking gets difficult near the tram stops and shops. With battery-powered serving, there is no engine idling outside anyone's window while we serve.

Addiscombe: questions
- Can the van park near the tram line?
- We keep well clear of tram tracks and stops. The tram runs on a dedicated route through Addiscombe, and stopping near it is unsafe and often restricted. A side street, driveway or car park is the right place. Give us your address and we will plan a suitable spot.
- Is Addiscombe close to your base?
- Yes. Our registered office is in South Croydon, only a few minutes away. That makes arrival times easier to plan and helps if your event is on a weekday afternoon. We serve all of Croydon and the whole of London beyond it.
- Can you do an after-school or end-of-term event?
- We can. Our vans are well suited to schools because there are no fumes in the playground while we serve. A prepaid token system works well so children can choose from the menu without bringing money. See our primary schools page and school event guide. Tell us the finishing time so we can be set up before the bell.
