Method statement
Definition
A method statement sets out, step by step, how a supplier will carry out its work safely on site. It is often paired with a risk assessment as RAMS.
Where a risk assessment says what could go wrong, a method statement says how the job will actually be done. For an ice cream van it might cover arrival time, the route to the pitch, how the van is positioned and secured, how service runs, how waste is handled and how the van leaves.
Together they are often called RAMS, short for risk assessments and method statements. Festivals, corporate venues and production sites frequently ask for RAMS from every supplier before the event. If your venue asks for a method statement, let us know early in the booking so we can prepare one around your site details.
