Event organiser
Definition
The event organiser is the person or company that plans an event, books suppliers and makes sure the site, permissions and safety are in place.
The event organiser holds the overall plan. They book suppliers, arrange access and timings, collect insurance and safety documents, and liaise with the venue and, where needed, the council. At a small private party that might be the host. At a festival it is usually a dedicated team, sometimes with separate managers for traders and production.
Suppliers need one clear point of contact on the day. If a van is delayed at a gate, or the pitch has moved, someone has to be reachable and able to decide. When you book, give us the name and phone number of whoever will be on site. We provide our risk assessments, insurance and hygiene documents to organisers on request.
