Site visit
Definition
A site visit is a check of an event location before the day to confirm access, the pitch, the ground and any restrictions that affect a supplier.
A site visit means walking the venue before the event to check how a supplier will get in, where they will set up and what might get in the way. For an ice cream van that includes gate widths, overhead clearance, the route across the site, the surface of the pitch and where guests will gather.
Large or complex events often arrange visits for key suppliers. For smaller events, clear photos, a map pin and a short description from the organiser can do much of the same job. When you enquire, send us photos of the entrance, the route and the spot you have in mind. It helps us spot problems early.
