Knickerbocker Glory
Definition
A Knickerbocker Glory is a tall layered sundae of ice cream, sauce and toppings, served in a tall glass and eaten with a long spoon.
The Knickerbocker Glory is a long-standing British favourite: layers of ice cream, sauce, fruit or sweets and toppings built up in a tall glass so you can see every layer from the side. It is eaten with a long spoon, which is part of the ritual. The origin of the name is not clearly recorded, so treat any single story about it with caution.
Because it is built to order, it takes a little longer than a cone, and it looks the part. That is why it works well as a dessert moment rather than a quick grab. Our Knickerbocker Glories come in Kinder Bueno, Nutella, Lotus Biscoff, Oreo, Caramel, Strawberry, Raspberry and Bubblegum. They are the centrepiece of the menu and a popular choice for weddings.
