Knickerbocker glass
Definition
A knickerbocker glass is a tall, narrow sundae glass that shows off the layers of a Knickerbocker Glory. It is paired with a long-handled spoon.
The knickerbocker glass is tall and narrow, often flared at the top and set on a short foot. Its shape lets the layers of a Knickerbocker Glory be seen from the side and means a long spoon is needed to reach the bottom. It is a fixture of traditional British cafés and seaside parlours.
The glass is a big part of the appeal. It is what makes a Knickerbocker Glory look like an occasion rather than just a bowl of ice cream, and it photographs well. Our Knickerbocker Glories are built to order in a tall glass, which is why they are a favourite at weddings and other events where presentation matters. If your venue has rules about glassware, mention it when you book.
