Ice cream van hire in Chelsea

Battery-powered ice cream vans for Chelsea's shop launches, garden parties, school events and wedding receptions.

Chelsea runs along the north bank of the Thames between Sloane Square and World's End, with the King's Road through the middle. It is a place of garden squares, riverside houses, galleries and shops, and some of London's best-known annual events, the Chelsea Flower Show above all. Bookings here are often for brand launches and shop openings on the King's Road, children's parties, garden square gatherings, school fairs and summer receptions.

Presentation counts, and so does discretion. Our vans serve on battery power with the engine off, so they sit quietly outside a shop, house or gallery without fumes or engine noise while we serve. Parking in Chelsea is tightly controlled and the King's Road is busy all day, so we usually agree a side road, private forecourt or suspended bay in advance. Duke of York Square and other private estates have their own managers, who decide what can stand on their land.

Event spots in and around Chelsea

  • Royal Hospital Chelsea

The home of the Chelsea Pensioners, whose grounds host the RHS Chelsea Flower Show each May.

  • Chelsea Physic Garden

A walled botanic garden by the Embankment, founded in the 17th century.

  • Duke of York Square

A privately managed shopping and events square off the King's Road near Sloane Square.

  • Chelsea Old Town Hall

The King's Road town hall, widely used for civil ceremonies and events.

Public spaces need the organiser to hold permission from the council or the site’s managers. We send the documents they usually ask for.

Wedding ice cream van hire in Chelsea

Chelsea Old Town Hall is one of London's best-known places to marry, and many couples move on to a restaurant, club or house nearby. Others choose riverside venues or a marquee in a family garden. An ice cream van works well on the pavement outside as guests gather for photos, or later in the evening as a dessert course. Kerb space on the King's Road is scarce, so plan the van's spot with the venue first.

Chelsea: questions

Can you serve outside Chelsea Old Town Hall after a ceremony?
Parking directly on the King's Road is difficult, so it depends on what the council and the venue allow on the day. A nearby side road or the first stop of your reception is often easier. Tell us your ceremony time and onward plans, and we will suggest where the van could stand. See our wedding ice cream van guide for more.
Can the van be branded or used for a King's Road launch?
We can serve at product launches and brand events, and we have worked with names like Red Bull and Mercedes-AMG. If you plan to trade on the pavement or road, check with the council or the private estate that owns the space. Visit our brand activations page for how these bookings run.
Is a battery-powered van quiet enough for a residential square?
Yes. The freezers and soft serve machine run from the battery, so the engine stays off the whole time we are serving. There is no engine rumble and no exhaust while we serve, which is why our vans suit residential squares, gardens and events close to homes. The chimes stay off unless you want them.
