Scoop
Definition
A scoop is a rounded portion of hard ice cream, and also the spring-loaded tool used to serve it. Scooped ice cream is kept colder than soft serve.
Scooped ice cream is frozen in advance and stored in tubs in a freezer, then served with a scoop. Because it is kept colder than soft serve, it is firmer, and the server has to work it into a ball. Different flavours sit side by side in the freezer, so a menu can offer more variety.
Each flavour should have its own scoop or a clean scoop between flavours. That matters for allergens as well as taste, because a scoop moved from one tub to another can carry traces with it. Our Scoop Ice Creams are Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry, Mint Chocolate, Bubblegum and Lemon, for guests who would like something other than soft serve.
